Cricket selectors now will get Rs. 2.5 million per annum August 24, 2008
Mumbai, To make selectors more accountable, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Saturday decided to put national selectors on its payroll.

The senior selectors will be paid Rs.2.5 million annually, the BCCI said in a statement after its working committee meeting here.

However, the selectors cannot be office-bearers of the BCCI or any of its affiliated units simultaneously.

The working committee also decided that only those who have played more than 25 first-class matches and retired 10 years ago alone can be selectors.

Junior selectORS will be paid Rs.1.5 million annually, but they should have retired from first-class cricket five years ago.

The committee also said women selectors will be paid Rs. 1.5 million per annum.
