Police probe threat call to Khemka November 1, 2012
Panchkula (Haryana), Nov 1 Haryana Police Thursday began preliminary investigations following a complaint that senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka has received a threat call on his official landline phone.

The threat call was received Wednesday in the office of Khemka, who is posted as managing director of the Haryana Seeds Development Corporation here. The complaint was filed by a functionary of Khemka's office.

Khemka, who was in the news recently after he cancelled the mutation of the Rs.58 crore land deal between Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and realty giant DLF.

Khemka had also marked an inquiry into the land deals made by Vadra in Haryana's four districts since 2005.

"We have received a complaint and we are investigating it. An unknown person made the call," Sector 5 police station house officer Nupur Bishnoi said here Thursday.

Khemka alleged that he received threats on his phone last month after he cancelled the mutation of the land deal between Vadra's company, Sky Light Hospitality, and DLF.

Khemka was transferred out as director-general, consolidation, after he initiated action against Vadra's land deals.
