UAE to host first Perfume Oscars

Dubai: UAE will host the first 'FiFi' Fragrance Award, also known as the Perfume Oscars in October this year.
Fragrance Foundation Arabia, the regional arm of the global fragrance industry body Fragrance Foundation US, will hold the award ceremony on October 27.
Shahzad Haider, chairman of Fragrance Foundation Arabia while explaining the need for such awards said, "Today the fragrance industry in the region is growing faster than in other parts of the world, and we have also noticed that Oriental perfumes are adapting their products to suit the global markets."
"On the other hand, there is an exponential increase in international brands of fragrances and retail houses in the region because of the sheer demand and keen interest of the multi-national brands within the Middle Eastern market," he added.
The awards were announced during the first gathering of fragrance industry professionals here recently and will be organised by Fragrance Foundation Arabia in association with Firmenich Dubai.
