Mumbai: Asha Bhosle has joined the small but growing list of celebrities who are daring to take on the MNS.
And she has done it at a stage shared by MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
At a function in Mumbai organised to celebrate her 75th Birthday Asha told Raj Thackeray on his face that Mumbai belongs to every Indian.
The MNS chief listened in rapt attention as Asha tore into his stated anti-Marathi stand.
Asha said Mumbai belonged to anyone who worked and lived in the city 24 hours a day. A grim Raj Thackeray listening in silence to this assault.
Coming out openly against the anti-North Indian tirade of Raj Thackeray's party, Asha Bhosle said nobody had the right to take away the livelihood of those who work tirelessly in the city.
A red-faced Raj not only listened to her speech with attention but also clapped with others.
Asha's hard talk to Raj Thackeray is a welcome change from the wishy washy stand that politicians in Maharashtra have taken on the issue.
But Asha did not stop at that. She went ahead to taunt Raj Thackeray on his stand of teaching Marathi to taxi drivers from the North.
