New Delhi: Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF), a premier Fashion and Design institute in the country, recently remembered and pays tribute to the renowned designer and fashion icon Alexander McQueen. Select students of the FD level 1 developed a visual board in which McQueen’s contributions are highlighted through pop out colored boards which reflects the vibrancy and force in his design approach.
Group Director of PAF, Dr. A. K. G. Nair formally inaugurated the visual board today, which has been printed and mounted up for display at the reception of the institute in New Delhi.
Speaking during the occasion, Dr. Nair said, “Alexander McQueen was known for his unconventional and dramatic designs. His collections are an inspiration to all young and budding designers. Studying his designs and contribution to fashion has really enlightened our students with various aspects of designing. Certainly his death is a gap that will remain unfulfilled forever”.
This exercise helped the students study McQueen as an international designer and to have a good understanding about his contributions. Apart from the unique visual board, some students also developed garment taking inspiration from the great collection of McQueen. The visual board was developed under the guidance of Mr. Prasanna Baruah, Associated Professor, Pearl Academy of Fashion.
