'Golmaal Returns' promises fun unlimited October 27, 2008
New Delhi, After his successful comedy "Sunday", director Rohit Shetty returns to tickle the funny bone of viewers once again with "Golmaal Returns" - a sequel to the hit "Golmaal"- which releases Wednesday.

Shetty, who believes comedy was always there and will stay because of the stress in people's lives, has increased the glamour quotient in part two by roping in Kareena Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani.

"We all are leading a very stressful life, and light-hearted comedies are a respite for the common man. People lap up comedies. For more than 20 years we have been making comedies and will continue to do so," Rohit said.

In the first instalment of "Golmaal", the four guys -- Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor -- teamed up with only one female artiste - Rimi Sen.

Shetty has repeated all the male lead actors in "Golmaal Returns" along with Shreyas Talpade, who wowed the audience with his performance in recently released "Welcome to Sajjanpur".

The story goes like this:

Gopal (Ajay Devgan), who lives with his wife Ekta (Kareena Kapoor), sister Esha (Amrita Arora) and a dumb brother-in-law Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), gets stuck in a yacht after saving an attractive woman Meera (Celina Jaitley) from some goons.

Both end up spending the night on the yacht and when he returns home next day, his suspicious wife Ekta, who is also a hardcore fan of the saas-bahu serials, smells something fishy.

Gopal knows it's going to be hard to convince her otherwise and so he concocts a cock-and-bull story about having stayed the night with a fictitious friend called Anthony Gonsalves.

Ekta refuses to believe him and writes to Anthony (on a fictitious address given to her by Gopal) asking him to visit her.

Gopal convinces his junior at work, Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) to pretend to be Anthony. Everything goes according to plan till the address to which Ekta had written to Anthony, turns out to be real.

If that isn't complication enough for Gopal, a dead body is discovered at the location where he had saved Meera.

The investigating officer, Madhav (Arshad Warsi), who is Esha's boyfriend and who cannot stand the sight of Gopal, learns that the latter had been missing from home that eventful night and begins checking on him.

Madhav's investigation results in hilarious chaos and tricky situations and it becomes imperative to invent a new lie to conceal the previous one.

The chaos, confusion and misadventures of the seven characters result in a non-stop joyride, evoking laughter and culminating in a surprising climax.

Tusshar was applauded for playing a deaf and mute in the last film and expectations are high from him this time too.
