Gagan continues his dream run in Eastern India Amateur dmanewsdesk December 24, 2007
Kolkata,Gagan Verma Sunday continued his dream run when he ousted the much fancied and fourth seed Tarun Gogale 4 & 3 to reach the semi-finals of the Goodricke Eastern India Amateur, an event on the LG Indian Amateur Golf Tour, being played here at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club.

Gagan set up a semi-final clash with top seed Abhishek Jha who beat Vikram Rana 4 & 3.

In the other quarter-final clashes, Jasjeet Singh stayed on course for the title when he steamrolled Dulal Hussain 6 & 5 while Sri Lankan Mithun Perera won a hard fought battle against Samresh Sardar.

Gagan completely dominated his match against Tarun. Going 1-up by the sixth, he increased his lead to 2-up by the next and went 3-up by the 11th before taking an unassailable lead on the 13th to go through to the semis.

Results (quarterfinals):
1-Abhisekh Jha beat 24-Vikram Rana 4 & 3

12-Gagan Verma beat 4- Tarun Gogale 4 & 3

7-Jasjeet Singh beat 15- Dulal Hussain 6 & 5

11-Mithun Perera beat 30-Samresh Sardar 4 & 3

Semifinal line-up:
1-Abhisekh Jha vs 12-Gagan Verma

7-Jasjeet Singh vs 11-Mithun Perera
