New Delhi, (DMA Newsdesk): This is no child's play. When the child artists from 19 Indian states descend on the stage set by National School of Drama. They kindle the same magic as their senior counterparts leaving the audience awestruck with their performance.
The stage is set for children's theatre festival "Jashnebachpan" organised by NSD'S Sanskar Rang Toli from November one, a Theatre in Education company.
Set up with the objective of bridging the gap between passive education and active method of learning, TIE has been enthralling audience for last 20 years with their original performances for children and adults, Abdul Latif Khatana, the chief of Sanskar Rang Toli said.
"And this time we have 22 plays lined up, which would be a visual delight for not only kids but adults too", he added.
There is nothing "kiddish" about the productions as the shows are staged with utmost professionalism, former director of NSD Kirti Jain said.
This year 16 brand new plays from Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat would be staged. The performances are high on quality backed with good scripts and artists from the age of 3 to 70 years.
The festival attempts to make children of all ages think, raise questions and make decisions.
Of the 22 plays that are going to be staged, the most awaited act is Dadi Pudumjee's "Simple Dreams", a popular puppetry act that is a visual journey through nature, life, using simple objects like sticks, umbrellas.
Another play which is sure to gauge attention is "Andher Nagri Choupat Raja" to be performed by children with special needs from Koshish Special School, Delhi.
