CWC to meet over price rise January 23, 2010
New Delhi: A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party's highest decision making body, is expected to take place in the next few days to discuss price rise and issues related to the party's organisational elections.

Party sources said the meeting will take stock of the steps taken by the government to check price rise.

Opposition parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Left, have already planned agitations against price rise during the budget session of parliament.

With the Congerss having set in motion the process of organisational elections, the meeting is also expected to discuss the outcome of its membership drive in various states.

The sources said the party's poll preparations in Bihar, which is slated to go to polls later this year, is also likely to come up for discussion.
