BJP's `Save India' slogan draws flaks from parties KUSHAL JEENA September 27, 2008
New Delhi, The principle BJP has decided to launch `Save India' campaign for the next general election to highlight the issue of terror that has hit various parts of the country killing several people. The Congress called the campaign as nothing but a political gimmick.

The tentacles of terrorism has spread its ugly wings across major parts of India and the recent spate of incidents has apparently divided the community to fish in trouble waters," said Congress secretary Major Ved Prakash.

In fact, the need to start such campaign doesn't hold much water, he said adding because such campaign only give way to more hatred towards one community than serving real purpose.

The aim of such campaign is not real as it appear to be because Bhartiya Janta Party wants to wedge a divide in more refined manner than it cease up to, said a Congress Working Committee member.

The need to `Save India' comes only when there is any real threat from any external aggression but just to fight terrorism on the basis of such slogans only cast shadow of doubt in the minds of people, said A B Mahapatra, a political analyst at the Centre for Asian Strategic Studies.

The BJP's latest poll campaign slogan has failed to enthuse the NDA partners, who don't subscribe to such views and slogan and dismisses such slogan. "It can only add bitterness during the elections," said a senior Janata Dal leader..

To wipe out terrorists activities from our soil the objective of every political parties including BJP is to fight terrorism in cohesive way and not to damn it by mere slogan, he said.
