BJP to chalk out Lok Sabha preparation plan, strategy Kushal Jeena May 27, 2008
New Delhi, May 26: Buoyed with the landmark victory in Karanataka assembly, the main opposition BJP would be working out a detailed campaign plan and strategy ahead of Lok Sabha elections in its national executive meeting scheduled to be held here on June 1 and 2.

At the behest of leader of opposition in the lower House of parliament, the party president Rajnath Singh has assigned the task of preparing draft of political report and future electoral challenge to party general secretary Arun Jaitley who is being described as the sole architect of party historic win in a souther state.

The central leadership of the party is expected to meet later this month to decide future course of action and the party leaders and the chief ministers of BJP-ruled states have been invited to the meeting, which would precursor to the national executive meeting. The NE meet is also expected to repose faith in the leadership of Advani who has made himself declared as BJP and NDA's prime ministerial candidate.

After the results confirmed that the BJP in Karnataka with 110 seats has emerged as single largest party, the three top leaders of the party Advani, Singh and Sushma Swaraj held informal discussion at Advani's residence on Sunday and appreciated the performance of the party and particularly its chief ministerial candidate Yediyurappa who has been main instrumental in make BJP to set its foothold in southern part of the country where it has been thriving for a long time to make inroads.
