SP to have alliance with Chiranjeevi Kushal Jeena September 6, 2008
New Delhi, Samajwadi Party has announced that it would enter
into an electoral alliance with the Prajarajayam, a regional political
outfit launched recently by the Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi in Andhra
Pradesh.

Party general secretary Amar Singh has said that he, Jayaprada and
Jaya Bachchan will jointly hold a press conference along with
Chiranjeevi on Sunday in Hyderabad to announce the pre-poll alliance
with actor-turned politician's party.

Giving out reason for joining hands with Chiranjeevi, Singh said his
party is opposed to NDA and has snapped ties with Left parties and the
UNPA of which TDP is a prominent member. "Hence, we want to have a
political understanding with the Prajarajyam, which is doing wonders
in Andhra Pradesh," Singh told news persons.

He said he has already held talks with Chiranjeevi about forging an
electoral alliance with his party adding their alliance would cause
immense harm to TDP, leader of which Chandrababu Naidu is currently
Convenor of United National Progressive Alliance.
