President to visit India's first women's education institute dmanewsdesk July 4, 2008
Pune,President Pratibha Patil will arrive here Friday on a three-day visit, her first to the city after she assumed the country's highest office.

On the day of her arrival, India's first woman president will grace the commemoration ceremony of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sansthan, marking the completion of 150 years of the country's first institute for women's education founded by Maharshi Dhondopant Karve.

The next day, she will receive a civic felicitation accorded by the Pune Municipal Corporation and then attend another function organized at Yashwant Rao Chavan Natyagruha here in the city.

She will Sunday visit her daughter Jyoti Rathod, who resides in the city, before leaving for Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
