John Abraham to produce film on tigers dmanewsdesk June 20, 2008
New Delhi,Due to his love for wildlife conservation, actor John Abraham has agreed to produce a film on tigers along with environmentalist and filmmaker Mike Pandey, the duo announced at an awards function here.

"Mike has been the one person responsible for consolidating and motivating a lot of people towards wildlife conservation. We would be making a film with four tiger cubs," John told reporters.

The actor, who has appeared in films like "Water", "Jism", "Dhoom" and more recently "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal", was awarded an EcoWarrior award Thursday for his work towards creating India's first elephant village in Maharashtra.

"John keeps doing a lot for elephants, tigers, monkeys and stray dogs. So, we talked with each other and have decided to make a film on tigers together. It would take almost a year and a half or even two years to make it," Pandey said.

John would be producing the film under his newly launched banner - John Abraham Entertainment.

"This movie would be a docu-drama. It would be about three tiger cubs and how their mother helps them to grow," Pandey said.

"I want the film to be like 'The Lion King' for the kids. I hope it does a lot for tiger conservation. It is not a commercial venture but a venture from the heart," John said.

At the end of the event, organised to observe the World Environment Day, John signed a campaign board and wrote: "Save wildlife, conserve forests".

He is also closely associated with the NGO People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
