India dump Tajikistan in World junior tennis April 17, 2008
New Delhi, April 17: India advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asia-Oceania leg of World under-14 tennis championship, thrashing Tajikistan 3-0 in their last Group 'A' encounter at Shenzen, China.

Top-seeded India will now take on Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals of the Asia-Oceania leg for a berth in the World Group final to be held in August in Prostejov, Czech Republic.

In the first singles Wednesday, Ramkumar Ramanathan defeated Abdurasai Nazirov 6-0, 6-0, while Ronit Bisht blanked Bakhodur Faridun with an identical scoreline in the second singles.

Bisht later paired up with Digvijay Singh Mehta to outplay Nazirov and Faridun 6-0, 6-0 in the doubles.
