Business Line bureau chief dies dmanewsdesk July 1, 2008
New Delhi,Alok Mukherjee, deputy editor and chief of bureau of The Hindu Business Line, died Monday after a brief illness.

Mukherjee, 50, was admitted to the Pushpawati Singhania hospital a week earlier and had slipped into a coma.

Mukherjee began his career in the Financial Express and later moved on to The Hindu where he was the chief economic correspondent for a decade.

He was cremated at the Nigambodh Ghat crematorium.
